Microsoft engineer Stacey Spears’ high-def test disc on BD-RE revealed that the player’s video processor quickly picks up 3:2 pulldown when outputting 1080p/60. HQV Benchmark on Blu-ray also looked quite good—jaggies were virtually non-existent, and the video-resolution loss test showed no sign of trouble. The film-resolution loss test exhibited occasional flickering in the highest-resolution boxes, but it performed very well in general.
The HQV Benchmark DVD revealed excellent detail in the upscaled image. There were a few minor jaggies on the lowest-angle diagonals, but nothing really objectionable. The processor picked up 3:2 quickly and reliably while outputting 1080p at 60 and 24fps.
