Out of the box, the set was too bright and too blue. Backlight was cranked up all the way; turning it down all the way improved things quite a bit. Brightness was still slightly too high, but contrast was actually a bit too low; increasing it by 2 clicks did the trick. Default color-temp preset was Middle (3 out of 5); Mid-Low was closest to correct, though it was still a bit blue overall and somewhat non-linear. Interestingly, the Low color-temp preset was decidedly yellow-green, not red. User controls are not associated with inputs but with picture modes; there's an independent user picture mode for each input, which allows different setups for different source devices.
