Calibration Notes

This TV has many auto picture functions, all of which are turned on by default. Be sure to turn them all off! Set does not pass below-black via HDMI. Unlike most TVs, you cannot store a different set of picture adjustments for each input. This will be especially problematic if the component and HDMI outputs of your source devices require different black-level settings, which is often the case. And forget about using the preset Auto Picture modes to store different settings for each input; as soon as you make an edit in any of the Auto modes, your carefully trimmed Personal setting is overridden. Main Picture Adjustment menu covers the entire screen, and the sliders for the individual settings occupy nearly a third of the screen, which further complicates the adjustment process. Smoothest high frequency response was at 1080i via HDMI; component input was noticeably noisier. Tint control was unable to be set to appear correct. Contrast control moved in non-linear steps, with some settings introducing color shifts. Warm color temp preset was toward red, Normal was toward blue.
