I like Taylor Swift so dont get me wrong when I say this CD sounds just awful! The midrange is washed out and horrible and the treble just screams at you with a harshness that I thought digital had left behind last century. What gives? How hard would it have been to make it sound even OK? Can anyone explain? Or am I the only one who feels this way?
It makes me very sad because I like alot of her songs.
I just started listening to his music and have been very impressed with it. I was wondering if any of you listen to him? I don't know if this is the right genre to post this in, since he isn't really new rock or pop. It's more experimental and jazz than anything, but does have rock tones on some tracks. If you haven't listened to him, I would highly recommend that you check him out! :)
Neil Young has chosen to again postpone Archives in order to release another grassroots-oriented new album said be in the same vein as Living With War, although this time focused on the economic crisis. The link to title track to the record, and the absolutely hilarious video, is below:

Of the myriad new records that crossed my desk and countless hundreds of rock/pop albums I heard this year, here are the ten releases that I deemed the year's best, plus another fifteen that weren't too far behind. For kicks, I also cut-and-pasted the Top lists of Jim Derogatis and Greg Kot, fellow Chicago colleagues and music critics whose writing and opinions I highly respect. You may know them as the hosts of the Public Radio program Sound Opinions. In addition, regular TAS/Playback contributor Andy Downing's Top 10 is posted below as well.

Bob Gendron
Have to say that I was disappointed by Bob Gendron's review of the above album in the latest TAS. The "featured" article was about some band that aren't fit to shine Bob's shoes and we were left with a sort of lukewarm review that failed in every way to convey the greatness of this new release. Here is the number 1 songwriter in the US (probably the world). A man who has been writing songs that have literally changed peoples lives for the past 40 years or more.
Having just seen Jacob for the first time and been favourably impressed I bought his "solo" record. Wow!!!
Not much seems to have been written about this recording, which has been out for several months I think. Yes it is a bit gloomy, but the songs are very well thought out and excellently performed. The sound quality also is in the "excellent" category. Why has there been no rave about this record ? Anyone else heard it/like it ?
Gretchen Peters donates royalties from "Independence Day" to Planned Parenthood
Donation made in the name of Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin
October 4, 2008 - Nashville, TN
When Sean Hannity began using Gretchen Peters' song "Independence Day" as the theme song for his Citadel Broadcasting radio talk show, Peters quietly stepped up her donations to causes including the ACLU, PFLAG, and Moveon.org.
But when the GOP used "Independence Day" to usher Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin to the stage after the debate in St.
Wondering how many Metallica fans are going to spring for the five disc set of the forthcoming Death Magnetic release? Man, I'm tempted but will probably settle for the two disc 180gram vinyl. Anyone out there with a gold card at the ready??
Asbjørn Slettemark of the Norwegian music industry magazine Faro Journalen reports that METALLICA's record label, Universal Music Norway, has confirmed that it has received several complaints over the sound quality of the new METALLICA single "The Day That Never Comes", which was released via the iTunes store late last week.
