Listeners to remastered classical recordings will attest to the fact that tape hiss is still present in many recordings.
Are there any (SA)CD / universal players on the market that offer the option of noise reduction software similar to, for example, "Dolby C" in cassette decks?
I realize that there is a trade-off between noise reduction and musical integrity.
Thanks
Not sure where to post this question but I'm wondering if anyone has experience listening to WAV, AIFF and Flac file formats on Sooloos systems and which file type the Sooloos plays best sonically? Does Sooloos do as good a job with each of these as the others or does one sound better than the others when played by the Sooloos?
With the subject Sony SACD-DVD player going on 10 years, I was wondering if those who have bought or heard the Oppo 95 would compare its sound via SACD (2 ch. stereo) to the subject Sony?
Thanks in advance, Bob
I can't find any info on this so I thought I'd ask here. What would a California Audio Labs CL-25 CD/DVD 96/24, HDCD player be worth in great condition? I have no idea. Any thoughts? I know it was $2500 new but that was in 1999.
Thanks
If you could share your opinions/experiences I would appreciate...
Best
Does anyone use Yamaha BD-S671 for stereo? Alternatives?
I am interested because:
1. It is only $299
2. It has USB “thumb drive” support, I do not have that today and want to try,
Putting my music on thumb drive from my PC and then play it on this unit.
Why: my Arcam rDAC sounds great via my current DVD player (via CDs that I burn via my PC) via the digital coaxial output
Has anyone attempted to play hi res music files via the USB ports on an OPPO BDP83 SE??? I'm wondering if I can play WAV, FLAC or other music files on this player. I know the new BDP 95 supports these files, but I just bought my BDP 83 SE about a year and a half ago.
Maybe I didn't do a proper 'Search', so I'll ask anyway: has anyone heard and compared SACD to either 24/96 and/or 24/192?
For example, with HDTracks now offerring the Stones in high resolution one can easily compare with Stones' SACDs released in 2002. I'm sure there are other examples.
I can't do it since I'm still on dial-up Internet!
Thanks, Bob
Hi all;
I am looking for a reference grade one-box SACD player (under 10000$) with several digital inputs, preferably including asynchronous USB. I know that a similar topic was discussed before but I just wanted to create a fresh one considering the rapid developement in this technological area. .
Following list comes to my mind:
- Cary 306 Pro
- Cary 303T Pro
- EMM CDSA (no digital input)
- Esoteric SA-50
- Esoteric X-05
