I don't need the latest & greatest, but I do need some current output at 4 ohms. I'd be content with a slightly older model AVR, but I don't know where to find the model histories for the various manufacturers. Is there a site that conveniently gives the (now discontinued) receiver models from the different manufacturers with links to the specs of each?
Thanks - Boomzilla

I'm AVR shopping. There is little price difference between most manufacturers' "best" 5.1 channel receiver and their "least expensive" 7.1. Assuming that a 5.1 and 7.1 receiver are both rated 100 watts-per-channel, and if I plan to use three and only three channels, will the larger power supply of a 7.1 receiver provide more current than the 5.1?
Does anyone out there have a copy of the Denon AVR-1000 (AV Receiver) Service Manual?
Friends,
I am using Cary Cinema 11a and would like to know how can I use the room calibration feature manually. I have a Radioshack SPL meter and adjusted the sound from each speakers, inputted the closest distance from the listening spot.
I noticed, there is another feature for room calibration which I don't know how to use? What kind of tools I need to buy?
How's it going guys I'm not new to HT but I am new to high end HT.I have spent the last couple of years trying to complete my system. It consist of Oppo dvi 981hd two Pioneer M-91 amps and 4 JBL's L7's and a center channel that is two JBL's L7's in a custom enclosure. The only speakers I'm trying to hook up are the RF LF and Center channel. I hooked up my center channel to one amp and my RF and LF to my other amp. The thing is that I don't know how to conect two amps to my decoder or if it's even possible. Anything will help thanks
I've a Yamana AV receiver. The subwoofer turnover frequency (as controlled by the receiver) is at 90 Hz. Although this is an acceptable frequency for the center channel, I don't want my main speakers cut off at 90 Hz.
What I want is for my main speakers to run full-range (for movies & music). When watching movies, I want the center channel (only) to revert to the subwoofer at 90 Hz.
The options for the Yamaha speaker controls are: Large, Small, or None. These seem self-explanitory.
