Hello,
I have been saving money for a new system for quite some time now. Depending on stock price I have a budget of about $12,000. I have been reading the magazines, web sites, ect . for a number of years know. I have a plan, which is to say I kind of know what I want/need. I just need to get out there and listen to some gear and make a final decision.
Hello from an aspiring hifi hobbyist,
I have been looking at the following combination and wanted to get your take on the compatibility of the amp and speakers.
Hello everybody
I am looking to upgrade a medium grade cyrus AV system into a high end AV System capable of awesome sterreo. I know this is for some people blasphemous but I thought I could give it a go here: Initial thoughts (all subject to appopriate negotiation and testing)
Stick with Cyrus CD XT SE+ and DAC X+ with dedicated PSX/R power supplies. To date they have delivered brilliantly and I am impressed with the DAC X's ability to make my downloaded iTunes music sound great aswell.
Hi - I would appreciate any suggestions for matching a Krell integrated amp (300i) with speakers. Currently I'm listening through a pair of PSB Stratus Silveri's rated at 4 ohms. The rectangular room is roughly 12 by 18 feet. I'm happy with the Krell and the PSB's sound good, too - with the exception of some clipping which is new. I suspect I could uprade to a more efficient speaker in the 2000. - 4000. range and improve my listening.
Greetings all. I am in the planning stages of opening a bakery-coffee centric cafe. I am an audiophile (Marantz DV8400, Musical Fidelity A308, Revel F50s, Transparent cabling) and want to provide as much of that as I can to customers. Naturally, I am seeking wall or ceiling mounted speakers, either in-wall, on-wall, or bracket mounted. I need a system that will sound alive and provide as much wow-factor as possible at low to moderate listening levels.
I would appreciate input from anyone using Raidho Eben X3.0 or Ayra 3.0 speakers regarding what amplification you've tried and what audible differences you've heard.
Hello,
I am contemplating a change in my amplification going forward, perhaps as a birthday or Christmas present to myself (funds permitting). I'm not really unhappy with what I have, but I've got a touch of "upgrade-itis" right now. I have assembled a tentative list of contenders, which with one exception are all monoblocks:
Odyssey Stratos
Odyssey Stratos Extreme
B&K Reference 200.1
Emotiva XPA-1
Cambridge Audio 840W (2 for bi-amping)
McIntosh MC501
