While this Sony is an overall excellent performer in the most important respects, and is certainly feature-packed, the 2D-3D upconversion mode is the one feature that disappoints. The 3D effect it produces is so mild as to be almost unnoticeably different from a regular 2D presentation. I do recall it having some effect with some 2D content, but there were other times I had to double check to see that the glasses were indeed activated as the 3D effect was hardly noticeable at all.
