Sony Bravia XBR-46HX909 LED-Backlit LCD 3DTV (TPV 94)

Sony’s top line LCD flat panel combines LED local dimming backlighting with 3D capability

While this Sony is an overall excellent performer in the most important respects, and is certainly feature-packed, the 2D-3D upconversion mode is the one feature that disappoints. The 3D effect it produces is so mild as to be almost unnoticeably different from a regular 2D presentation. I do recall it having some effect with some 2D content, but there were other times I had to double check to see that the glasses were indeed activated as the 3D effect was hardly noticeable at all.
