Paradigm Mini Monitor V.6 Loudspeaker (TAS 190)

A Lot for a Little

A Lot for a Little

I don’t expect everyone who is looking for small monitor speakers to buy a pair of Mini Monitors regardless of how bad the economy gets. But even folks with unlimited funds may find much about the Minis that will encourage them to pick up a pair, or two, or three. The bottom line, which appeals to everyone, is that the Minis offer a surprisingly high level of sonic quality for a ridiculously low price. Sure, they aren’t elegant looking and taking off their grilles results in an even less décor-friendly appearance, but if you close your eyes they look mighty fine, indeed.

If you want to play audiophile Santa Claus, buy a couple of pairs and give them to some deserving young music-lovers. Although trickle-down didn’t work for the economy as a whole, when applied to the development of future audiophiles it might be just the ticket to a brighter future.

Made completely in North America? You mean made in mexico.

Nice thread!

Google it: Mexico is generally considered part of North America.

And yes, Dickweed, Paradigm Monitor series is made in Canada, not Mexico. Nothing Paradigm makes is made in Mexico.

All Paradigms are built in Toronto Canada. I ahve been to th the factory and spent a couple of days there. They have 100% quality control. All cabinets are built there, and all the speakers are tested for sound quality in a little sound booth at the end of each kiosk style assembly line. I have personally owned Paradigms now for more than 20 years. They sound great

North America is USA, Canada & Mexico commonly. But technically and geographically also includes what we commonly call Central America also called Mesoamerica.

I'm about to buy a pair of Mini Monitors. The store has V.6 in Rosenut, which is ok, but he has V.5 in Black Ash, which is the color I wanted. Also the V.5 is about 65 USD less. Could someone suggest if I should sacrifice the color choice and pay 65 $ more for V.6 or just go for the V.5? I've tried to search for a comparison between the 2 but can't find anything. I'll be using them in a 2.0 setup with a tube Fatman iTube.

Thanks in advance.

Most of the changes or superficial, like making the grills magnetic. However, what may sell you on the v6.s are redesigned "phase-coherent" crossovers, that they say make the speakers more efficient.
