The Copland DRC205 digital room correction (or room-compensation) device offers both high sonic quality and extraordinary flexibility. In its automatic stand-alone mode, it does response correction quite literally at the touch of a button. Insert the device in the tape-monitor loop of your preamp, put the supplied microphone where you intend to listen, push the button, wait a minute or so for the measurements of the in-room response of your speakers, and you are ready to hear music. Or you can connect the device to a PC via a USB cable; in this mode, you can see the results of measurements, see what the final result will be after correction, and manipulate the sound you will hear in a very detailed, refined way by altering the "target curve."
