Yamaha's YHT-685 system comes close to pulling off a performance upset, providing a very good receiver and universal player plus a better-than-expected speaker system at a more than fair price. Given the dynamic limitations of its subwoofer, this system is best suited for use in smaller rooms where it should prove very satisfying.
