Indeed, the Reference CD7 sounds so neutral and transparent from top to bottom that it is even harder to tell it from LP playback, whereas normally the differences would be unmistakable because of CD's darkness. Once broken in, the CD7 preserves all that CD is good at, while diminishing many of the colorations (the darkness, the flatness, the airlessness, the lack of bloom) that make CDs sound less like real music.
