The X1 is housed in two chassis, two devoted to the left and right analog gain stages and a third to provide the power supply and digital control circuitry. The X1 houses the left and right gain channels in one chassis, and the power supply and digital control circuitry in another. In both cases, the control chassis offers both remote and manual control of the select and gain settings of the analog circuits and features a fluorescent display that describes the settings of the controls and provides a digital read-out of the gain settings for each channel.
