As a CD player, the SCD‑50 is good -- stronger on smoothness, color, and resolution than dynamics and tonal neutrality?but as an SACD player it's up there with some of the best I?ve heard. Disc after disc left me wondering anew at the indifference of the industry, the press, and the consumer to this superior medium.
