The troubling thing about the 300.2 is that I didn't find it to sound completely natural. Something about the way it treats the lease edge of transients seems slightly too caffeinated. Exciting and involving, but not quite right.
Note: The TAS 164 review covers Audio Research 300.2, Classe Audio CA-M400, and McIntosh MC501 amplifiers. The TAS 166 review is a part of Special Report on Class D amps.
