The Quartz Line Quadrupler performs the same basic function as a line doubler--converting interlaced video to progressive--but goes one step further by scaling the resulting image to occupy twice the number of progressive-scan lines. This turns out to be ideal for driving a graphics-grade projector based on 9-inch CRTs.
