The TEAC Esoteric UX-1 is a universal multichannel player that will play everything on a 5" silver disc, even if it's DVD-Video. The UX-1 player is notable for converting DSD to PCM during the D-A process. The DACs are Burr- Brown PCM-1704s, high-end parts that have been used in the finest CD players. The UX-1 has a single DAC board devoted to the front two channels with four PCM 1704 DACs-two for each channel in a dual-differential configuration-feeding balanced analog outputs.
