Sony KP-57WS510

Sony KP-57WS510

The KP57WS510 is very similar in styling and operation (both slick) to Sony's KP46WT500 I reviewed in TPV 48, although it's one generation newer. Like that set, it also has two component-video inputs and a DVI/HDCP job. Sony's Digital Reality Creation scaling/processing scales 480i sources to 960i, while 480p and 1080i sources bypass DRC entirely. Cinemotion is included to detect the 3-2 cadence of film-based material and compensate accordingly.

A Survey of Six HDTV's: Sony 57'' KP-57WS510; Hitachi 57T500 57''; Optoma RD-50 50''; Pioneer Elite 53'' PRO-530HD; Mitsubishi 65'' WS-65813; and Toshiba 57'' 57HLX82
