The Zenith HDV 420 has some unique outstanding features among this reviewed group of HDTV tuners. It's the only STB in its class with both component and RGB outputs-a very important feature for readers with plasma monitors, front projectors, and computer-type monitors that lack component-video inputs. It's also the only box with a front-panel button for all four scan rates (1080i, 720p, 480p, or 480i), making it easy to change rates for multiscan devices, as well as making the HDV 420 the logical candidate for owners of fixed-pixel display devices (such as plasma, DLP, LCD, LCOS).
This review is 9 page survey of 7 HDTV Set-Top Boxes: Panasonic TU-DST52, Samsung SIR-T151, Samsung SIR-TS160,Samsung SIR-T165, Sony SAT-HD200, Zenith HDV420 and Zenith HD-SAT520.
