The Rogue offers an updated version of the classic tube sound, but with better frequency extension in both directions. While it's distinctively to the yin side of center, there's just less syrup all over everything. Its coherency of sound is surprisingly good at its price, and even when I can fault it on the ''head'' kinds of criteria, the heart confirms that it is unfailingly musical.
