The KP-61HS10 is a good example of the improved performance of RPTVs today. The HS in the model number stands for Hi-Scan, the name for the Sony line of sets that will display high definition images in the 1080i format. In addition to displaying 1080i signals, the KP-61HS10 will display 480p and 960i. The latter signal is created by the Digital Reality Creation (DRC) from Sony, a circuit that upconverts incoming conventional 480i signals to 960i.
