April 23 - With the sale of majority control of D&M Holdings (owner of Marantz, Denon, Boston Acoustics, Snell, Escient, and McIntosh) imminent, how do you think the sale will affect the product lines? The two major contenders for D&M Holdings at the moment are Best Buy and Bain Capital (owner of Kenwood).

How do you think each potential victor would affect the lines? Could we see these brands marginalized if bought by a big-box retailer, or would a major player like Best Buy be able to sink even more capital into these companies for product development?

April 22 – In some very exciting news, Linn has just announced their new Majik LP12 turntable.

Meant as a more modern version of the enormously popular Sondek LP12, the new Majik LP12 looks to be an incredibly exciting new product.

The press release states the this offering is essentially a Sondek LP12 with a few updates, namely an internal Majik LP12 power supply, solid base board, Adikt MM cartridge, and Pro-Ject 9cc tonearm.

Linn essentially created the high-end turntable market 35 years ago with the Sondek LP12, so the buzz around this new turntable will be deafening.
