January 10 – It appears as if electronics giant LG has snagged Mark Levinson for the purposes of designing a new home theater speaker system.

The LG LHT888 will feature 4 satellite speakers, a wireless kit, and a player. The speakers are capable of 700 watts of power over 5.1 channels.

On the video side, the DVD player isn’t anything too impressive. It will be capable of 1080p upscaling, nearly.

January 10 – CES, while traditionally dominated by home theater related products, still has some gifts for the audiophiles of the world.

Snell Acoustics has released information on their upcoming Illusion Series LCR Loudspeakers.

Meant to accompany their widely acclaimed Model A7 Reference Tower, these 3-way speakers aren’t meant for the value consumer.

January 10 – Sharp has certainly has a very busy CES, with a whole host of new products.

Yesterday saw Sharp release information on yet another of these products, a new Blu-ray player.

The biggest upgrade over Sharp’s previous Blu-ray players is the support for Blu-ray Profile 1.1, which allows for the highly touted BD features like Picture-in-Picture display and the like.

January 9 – Epson has officially released their very highly anticipated new Powerlite Home Cinema 1080 UB projector this year at CES.

Available for purchase now, this appears to be a pretty incredible projector, especially for the $2,999 price tag.

For $2,999, the lucky purchasers of this projector will get some serious hardware.
