October 2 - Audio Technica has unveiled their latest flagship set of headphones, and they surely promise some excellent performance.

With a sensitivity of 103dB, a frequency response of 5-35,000 Hz, and an impedance of 42 ohms, the ATH-ESW9 Sovereign Wood Headphones have some very competitive specs.

Personally, I think the real value of these headphones is their form.

September 27 – Sling Media has introduced a new piece of Slingbox hardware, the Slingbox SOLO.

While retaining all of the features that have made the Slingbox a big success, the SOLO has also added some nice new features. The biggest change comes in the form of built-in component jacks.

Component jacks have been very conspicuously missing from previous models, so it is nice to see that Sling Media has finally thrown some in.

September 27 – Denon has unveiled a new iPod dock with some distinct functionality. In addition to being compliant with all the latest Denon components, the new ASD-3W has the unique ability to receive Wi-Fi signals.

This enables the Denon ASD-3W to receive streaming signals from your computer or receive streaming internet radio.

It also comes with a preamp built-in and compatibility with pretty much all the current iPod models.

The Denon ASD-3W is available now for about $330. Denon is also offering a non-Wi-Fi version that instead utilizes an Ethernet connection. This model, the ASD-3N is available for $250.

September 25 – Virgin Digital, the online music downloading service, has officially gone out of business. While there is no reason stated for the shutdown, Virgin Online has stopped taking new costumers.

An online notice also advises its customers to backup their files, as they will become unavailable very shortly.

Users are also advised to use up any unused credits, as they will soon become worthless. This is in fact the case for UK users, but US users have another chance to redeem their credits.

US users have the option of transferring their remaining credits to the Napster online music store.
