May 21st, 2007 — By Charlie Robb
May 21 - Blizzard, a Vivendi subsidiary, has officially announced their latest project, Starcraft 2. In the past, Blizzard managed to have 2 massively popular RTS series, Starcraft and Warcraft.
Warcraft eventually spawned the MMORPG, (Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game) World of Warcraft, which has gone on to be one of the most successful games of all time.
It currently has over 8 million subscribers, each paying $15 a month.

Unfortunately for fans of MMOs, Starcraft 2 is simply a RTS (real time strategy) game, but that doesn’t diminish the potential.
Blizzard has an excellent track record, so you can bet on them doing everything in their power to sate the ravenous Starcraft masses. Read more here
