May 9 – Nokia’s Comes With Music service for their music-capable cell phones just got a significant boost.

While Universal Music Group had been the only major record label to support Nokia’s new effort, today marked Sony BMG’s entrance into the program.

May 2 – Some specs for the upcoming BlackBerry 9000 have been leaked to the public. It looks like this 3G BlackBerry will come with an upgraded screen resolution of 480×320, up from 320×240.

In the internet department, the BlackBerry 9000 will be a tri-band HSDPA smartphone, with Wi-Fi capabilities to supplement the HSDPA. There will be assisted GPS available, but there are no frim details as to what this entails.

May 1 – AT&T has announced the launch of their new Mobile TV service on conjunction with MediaFlo, and it is set for May 4th.

This service was announced some time ago, but it allows users to purchase tiered subscription plans for a variety of channel set ups. The basic package will include Fox Mobile, CBS, Mobile, NBC 2Go, and NBC News 2Go.

April 30 - According to the Taiwan Economic News, Apple’s upcoming 3G iPhone may be much smaller and lighter. According to their sources, the weight of the newest iPhones will be reduced by between 15% and 20%.

To accomplish this, they say that Apple is going to be changing the back panel from aluminum to plastic and that the screen size will be reduced to 2.8-inches from 3.5-inches in current models.
