September 19 - Premium camera manufacturer Hasselbad has released a real killer onto the market as of today.

The Hasselbad H3D-39II is a DSLR that is obviously meant for the fanatic enthusiasts or professional photographers.

 The spec which is sure to make a great many enthusiasts drool is tha absolutely massive 39-megapixel rating on this bad boy. According to Hasselbad, even at the 39-megapixel setting, there is still going to be significant image noise reduction.

The H3D-39II and its 22-megapixel cousin, the H3D-22II will both feature a much larger 3-inch display and an easy navigation system using a thumbwheel.

September 13 - CEDIA Expo has always been focused on front projectors, and rightly so, since most custom-installed home theaters are based on the big-screen magic they bring to the party.

This year was no different, except in the surprising number of really excellent 1080p projectors on hand. Not only that, most can be outfitted with an “anamorphic” lens and electronic processor that stretches a letterboxed movie to fill an ultra-wide 2.35:1 screen, providing a to-die-for home cinema experience at a cost that is far less than it was just a year ago.

July 30 – On the heels of a busy news week, Samsung has released information on a new camera.

The i85 is a PMP ( Personal Multimedia Player) camera with a built-in stereo system and a wide range of video support (available after conversion using bundled software).

Overall, it appears to have some decent specs, but there isn’t anything particularly riveting about the i85.

It’s an 8-megapixel camera with a 5x optical zoom, 1600 ISO rating, ASR image stabilization, and a moderate shutter speed of 1/2,000 seconds.

Samsung’s i85 will be available sometime later this fall for a reasonable $350. More pics after the break.

July 26 – Fujifilm has announced several new compact cameras, with updates to their Z-series and 2 brand new high-end compacts.

The Z-series of cameras received a major aesthetic update, as well as getting a few hardware upgrades. The now 7.2-megapixel camera will also have a 3x optical zoom and a load of features to counteract normal flash artifacts.

The updated Z-series cameras are definitely intended for a more tech-savvy group of consumers, with an option to resize each photo to standard blogging sizes of 620×480 or 320×240.

There is no release date set for the US as of today, but the price seems to be about $330.

FujiFilm also announced 2 new high-end compacts, the F50fd and the F480 (More pics after the break).
