According to a press release, just one year after introducing its acclaimed Synchrony series, Canadian loudspeaker manufacturer PSB introduces an all-new family of loudspeakers, the Imagine series.

The report continues by saying that the range is composed of the 2 1/2-way, three-driver Imagine T floorstander; the 2-way Imagine B bookshelf speaker; the 2-way Imagine C center channel; and the tri-mode (dipole/bipole/dual channel monopole) Imagine S surround channel. All four speakers share a common driver family employing a high-output 5.25-inch ceramic-filled polypropylene woofer and a 1-inch titanium dome tweeter inspired by that of the Synchrony.

The report adds that the Imagine’s curvaceous cabinetry—built both by computer-controlled machinery and by human hands—was developed primarily for its acoustic properties, which PSB founder and chief designer Paul Barton tested and studied in the anechoic chamber and listening facility at Canada’s National Research Council in Ottawa.

According to a press release, Danish hi-fi manufacturer Jamo is introducing its new IW 827 LCR in-wall speaker featuring technology found in the company’s Concert Series C 800 freestanding loudspeakers. Jamo is also making available its DMR 70 DVD receiver to U.S. audiences for the first time.

The release continues by saying that the IW 827 LCR is a 2 ½ -way design featuring a 1-inch DTT (Decoupled Tweeter Technology) silk dome tweeter flanked by a 7-inch woofer and a 7-inch midrange/woofer. The company claims that this configuration and a unique crossover circuitry help to achieve exceptional vertical dispersion without the midrange cancellation that can occur in a traditional layout.

A press release announces that Philips is introducing its new CinemaOne module, which is a versatile, all-in-one home theater package that squeezes a CD/DVD player, iPod dock, 5-channel amplifier, six speakers, and a subwoofer all into one football-sized package.

The release continues by saying that the unit’s amp features Philips’s sound processing technology, which the company claims is able to create a moving surround sound experience through the unit’s admittedly small—but precisely angled—speakers and 4-inch subwoofer, which is built in to the unit’s base. The CinemaOne is compatible with most video formats including DivX, Mpeg, and WMV and upscales to 1080p. A USB port makes the unit even more versatile.
