Mythos Audio Unveils The Olon Loudspeakers
May 15th, 2008 — By Charlie Robb![]()
May 15 - Mythos Audio has recently taken the wraps of their latest high-end loudspeaker, the Olon. Meant to slide into Mythos’ speaker range just below their flagship Aenaon speakers, the Olon will boast quite an impressive set of hardware.
The driver compliment will utilize a Mundorf Air motion transformer tweeter with two ScanSpeak midrange drivers in a D’Appolito array and a Visaton bass driver. Mundorf will also make the wiring and crossover components.
The listed information gives the Olon a frequency response of 18Hz to 40kHz with 88dB/W/m sensitivity and an 8 Ohm impedance.
In addition to the hardware, the Olon will feature some wild aesthetic choices. The cabinets (H:160cm, W:50cm, D:72cm) will be made of birch plywood, stacked into an impressive presentation.
Also, some of the drivers have been recessed to give proper time alignement for the drivers. This makes for a very unique appearance.
There were no pricing or availability details given, but expect quite a hefty price tag if you want to pick one up.

That sure is a different looking speaker…
