Pioneer Unveils Signature Series KURO HDTVs
May 7th, 2008 — By Charlie RobbMay 7 – In addition to updating the 2008 line of KURO plasmas, Pioneer has also decided to add 4 new “Pro” models to the KURO family.
The Pro Series feature list is still somewhat vague, but we do know that they will include the Optimum Mode technology which will automatically detect the lighting in the viewing room and make calibration changes accordingly.
Two of these new Pro models will also sport the “Signature Series” tag, but little is known about what these sets must go through to achieve this moniker.
The Signature Series Pro models, in 50-inch and 60-inch versions, will be available in August and October respectively with no firm price as of yet.
The non-Signature models will be available in the same sizes for $5,000 and $6,500 respectively, $1,000 above the new standard KUROs.
These sets are set for a June release.
