VUDU Offers Whole-Home Video Streaming
April 10th, 2008 — By Charlie Robb
April 10 - VUDU is flexing their IPTV muscles today in a new announcement. As a consequence of a recently announced partnership with NetStreams, the VUDU XL will soon be able to stream content to multiple rooms in your house.
This new multiroom home video distribution solution is made possible by coupling the VUDU XL with a DigiLinX IP-Based Distributed Audio, Video and Control system.
After these have been networked, users can access all of the content stored on the VUDU XL’s 1TB hard drive from any properly networked TV.
VUDU is also offering quite a bit of content, with over 5,000 movies in their rapidly expanding catalog. The VUDU XL allows users to download movies through an ethernet connection directly to the unit, without the use of any intermediary device.
There is no word on when this new feature will be able to be accessed, but it should be in the very near future.
