Oppo Makes the DV-983H Official

March 12 – The recently announced DV-983H DVD player from Oppo was made officially yesterday.
The specs still look very impressive, with lots of treatment given to the audiophiles of the world, but Oppo decided to beef up the video side of these units as well.
They are going to utilize Anchor Bay VRS processing to help buff up the video side, although it didn’t need a ton of help as it is.
The DV-983H also got priced in this release, and it is still quite low at only $400.
Of course there was one other very interesting part of Oppo’s press release.
They casually dropped the fact that this unit will be their last DVD player.
With plans for an Oppo Blu-ray player in the works, one can only assume that they will be moving to a totally HD lineup.
