Goldmund Releases a $17k Blu-ray Player
February 26th, 2008 — By Charlie Robb
February 26 – High-end manufacturer Goldmund has raised the bar in the field of incredibly expensive home theater gear with a new Blu-ray player.
Little is known about Goldmund’s new Eidos 20 BD Blu-ray player, except for the price. The Eidos 20 BD will cost the public about $17,000.
If price is any indication of quality, it is sure to be a completely celestial and divine movie watching experience.
Of course, a player with a price of $17,000 would make me more worried about it becoming self-aware and causing destruction on a global scale than the occasional disc read error.
There is no firm release date at the moment.

Come on - there is no blue ray player that could EVER be made that would justify a 16.5 thousand dollar price jump from the basic player; it’s still the same technology!
This is why good salesman are being paid at high-end retailers.
