Sony Expands Bravia Line With New “Portable” HDTVs
February 6th, 2008 — By Charlie Robb
February 6 – Sony is obviously looking to expand the Bravia brand of HDTVs with a new and very interesting offering.
Sony is going to be creating a new line of Bravia’s that will be advertised as “portable HDTVs.
These sets will range in size from 20-inches to 26-inches and will sport some respectable hardware. Of course you would still be lugging around a 26-inch TV, sporty handgrip or not. These TVs will sport the Bravia Engine, 2 HDMI ports, and a TV tuner.
All these portable offerings need now are some “portable 4 satellite surround sound systems and maybe a “portable AV receiver.
These sets are only slated for a European release at the moment, but the Bravia line is expanding so rapidly that I wouldn’t be surprised by a US release. There is no word on a release date or pricing on these units yet.
