October 12th, 2007 — By Charlie RobbOctober 12 – Users of Olive’s Opus media player will soon be able to enjoy the beauty of DRM-free lossless digital music.
Olive Media Products announced yesterday that they have created a new partnership with MusicGiants. MusicGiants offers DRM-free downloads that utilize a lossless compression so that you don’t have to sacrifice the quality of the song just for the convenience of digital downloading.
Each song in the Music Giants catalog will cost $1.29. As a reference point, iTunes offers DRM-free downloads at $1.29, but they are approximately one quarter of the sound quality.
Olive Media Products also announced that users will be able to purchase songs from MusicGiants using the player itself, without having to use the intermediary computer.
This partnership should being to take effect in January of 2008. Read our interview with Music Giants CEO Scott Bahneman here.
