Other Blu-ray Players from Sharp, Marantz, Denon
First-timers to the Blu-ray field included the Sharp BD-HP20 ($550, September) with a Quick Start feature that can go from stop to first image in 10 seconds.
A couple of high-end Blu-ray players also made their static debut (they were on display but not operational), including the Marantz BD8002 ($2100, beginning of 2008), which will decode all audio formats.
True to their earlier story, Denon unveiled two models—the DVD-3800BDCI (above) ($2000, December), which features HQV processing and native Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD bitstream output, and the DVD-2500BTCI ($1200, December), a transport with only an HDMI output designed to mate with the new generation of A/V receivers—such as those from Denon, not surprisingly—that can decode the new audio formats.
