CEDIA 2007: Rotel introduces a new preamp/processor
September 7th, 2007 — By Charlie Robb
September 7 - Rotel has announced a brand new processor/preamp at CEDIA, the new RSP-1069 HT. Although it does have some impressive features, there are couple of very notable aspects which seem to have been overlooked.
The RSP-1069 HT processor/preamp will utilize TI Aureus DSP for a majority of the decoding functions with video sources being processed by Faroudja DCDi technology.
It will also include 4 HDMI and 3 component inputs as well as an RS-232 serial port for automation purposes. Unfortunately Rotel decided not to include the latest HDMI 1.3 inputs, opting to include an older version (1.2?).
In the press release, there is also no mention of some of the higher quality audio formats, namely Dolby TrueHD or DTS HD.
The Rotel RSP-1069 HT will be available for $2,199 starting very soon.
