CEDIA 2007: Sony offering the HES-V1000, a massive 200 Blu-ray disc changer and so much more
September 6th, 2007 — By Charlie Robb
September 6 – In addition to their new super-projectors, Sony has also showed a neat new Blu-ray-centric media server.
It’s being called a “home entertainment center, but the HES-V1000 is really a highly advanced Blu-ray disc changer.
It comes in a tower setup and can store over 200 Blu-ray discs, which incidentally is about how many Blu-ray titles are available. When connected to the appropriate display, the HES-V1000 can playback your Blu-ray discs at a full 1080p without the hassle of changing discs.
Of course Sony didn’t stop there. They decided to include a 500GB hard drive as well, so that you can play your home videos, photos, or recorded videos at a maximum of 1080p playback.
Sony also includes support to stream your hard drive content wirelessly and several slide show programs.
All of this is available in October for a surprisingly low $3,500. Watch our Video of the HES-V100 here.
