CEDIA 2007: KEF intros new Reference series speakers and big XQ speaker upgrades
September 6th, 2007 — By Charlie Robb
September 6 – KEF, makers of quality audio gear, have announced a revision to their line of XQ speakers and Reference line.
The upgraded XQ line promises some fairly significant improvements, with new hybrid titanium Uni-Q drivers and aluminum elliptical tweeters.
These upgrades should ensure that the XQ models will be able to plumb the depths of the higher frequency sounds, as well as creating further extended frequency response.
These additions will apply to the whole range of XQ speakers, from the diminutive XQ10 to the larger XQ40 floorstanding speaker. (More pics after the break)
KEF is also introducing a new line of Reference series speakers. Like the XQ line, the Reference series will also utilize the new Uni-Q drivers with “ultra-low distortion bass drivers.
There will be nine new models available from the 201.2 standmount speaker to the 207.2 floorstanding speaker. There is no word yet on the pricing or availability. Check out some expert reviews on Speakers before you make your next purchase.
