[CES 2007] SanDisk Technology Trumps Apple & Zune
January 10th, 2007 — By editorThis one’s got Wifi

Steve Jobs may have stole a bit of CES’s thunder with the Apple iPhone (okay, maybe a little more than a bit), but there were plenty of vendors at CES with innovative MP3 products.
SanDisk Connect ($249 March): SanDisk sells more MP3 players than anyone except for Apple and innovates almost as much. This new iPod-sized Sansa is equipped with WiFi, which not only trumps iPod but Microsoft’s Zune as well. The prime application for the WiFi on this 8 GB player is the ability to share music suggestions over the Web, even listen in to the music on someone else’s Sansa Connect once you complete a handshake with your musical correspondent. WiFi also lets you tune in Internet radio stations without an intervening PC. Among the Connect’s other attributes are a 2.2-inch color LCD, a microSD slot for additional music storage and a small built-in speaker. - Stewart Wolpin
