[CES 07] Dynaudio MC 15 High-End Multimedia Loudspeaker
January 10th, 2007 — By Chris MartensSurprising sound from a desktop speaker

The term “multimedia loudspeaker usually conjures up images of small, cheap desktop speakers that produce less than full-bodied sound, but Dynaudio’s MC15 high-end multimedia speaker may change all that. In fact, the MC 15s just might be the most ambitious “desktop speakers we’ve ever seen or heard.
One look will tell you that the MC 15s started out with the same basic ingredients used in Dynaudio’s high-quality stand-mount monitoring speakers; namely, a 1.1-inch Esotec soft dome fabric tweeter and a 5.9-inch magnesium silicate polymer woofer, housed in a beautifully made 4.8 liter bass reflex enclosure. Add to the mix a pair of built-in, low-distortion 50-watt amplifiers—one to drive the tweeter and the other to drive the woofer—and you’ve got everything you need for an ultimate desktop sound system. Though the MC 15 already offers wide-range frequency response (55 Hz – 21kHz, +/- 3dB), users have the option of adding Dynaudio’s companion Sub 250MC powered subwoofer for even deeper bass should they wish to do so.
The MC 15s will sell for $1299 and should be available immediately. Trust us on this one: The MC 15s are to normal desktop speakers what an F-18 Hornet fighter jet is to a Cessna.

Sounds like a great piece of kit…. one question…are these babies even out yet?….this review was done nearly a year ago! can seem to find these anywhere!! : (
