[CES 07] Audiovox Enters HD Market

High definition is everywhere you turn at CES this year, even in the booth of acquisition-hungry Audiovox. The company, long known for its automotive audio systems and portable DVD players, is also making inroads as a TV manufacturer. In keeping with the HD mania that is sweeping CES this year, Audiovox debuted a 37-inch 1080p LCD that will ship early is year. Considering its suggested retail price of $1399 for full HD, the FPE3706P will be viewed by many as a bargain.
Audiovox also announced at CES the acquisition of RCA/Thomson’s “accessory business,� which includes the Acoustic Research and Jensen line of products and gives Audiovox an expanding portfolio of audio speakers and home theater in a box (HTiB).
