[CEDIA 06] Meridian/Faroudja MF1 Redefines Quality
September 17th, 2006 — By Scott Wilkinson
Meridian does nothing halfway, and the new MF1 1080p D-ILA projector is no exception. It starts with a JVC projector that is tested for three days. If it passes, it is then heavily modified and subjected to eight hours of calibration (a process devised by video guru William Phelps) to assure stunning white field uniformity, perfect grayscale, and correct gamma, resulting in an image with unrivaled depth and transparency. The demo looked amazing, which I would expect from a product that sells for $26,000 (including the outboard DVP-1000 processor).
