[CEDIA 06] NAD Launches Two Power Amplifiers With Innovative PowerDrive Circuit
September 16th, 2006 — By Robert Harley
NAD, the manufacturer of great-sounding, high-value components, introduced two new power amplifiers, the T 975 7-channel unit and the 5-channel T 955. Both amplifiers employ monoblock construction and incorporate NAD’s PowerDrive circuitry. This circuit automatically senses a loudspeaker’s impedance characteristics and adjusts the amplifier’s power-supply settings to optimize performance for the particular loudspeaker.
The T 975 is rated at 140Wpc into 8 ohms; the T 955 delivers 100Wpc into 8 ohms. As with all NAD amplifiers, these power ratings are with all channels driven into 8 ohms at full bandwidth (20Hz-20kHz) and at a rated distortion (0.08% THD).
Prices are $2199 and $1299, respectively.
