[CEDIA 06] Home Theater in a Snap
September 16th, 2006 — By Christopher Jones
If the idea of shopping for home theater components doesn’t strike you as a fun way to spend your time, Mondo USA has created an integrated entertainment system that has a streamlined look, and is designed to be simple to control and customize.
The XL 7000 system includes a 120-inch screen, 720p DLP projector, 5.1 surround sound system and a digital media server with a 1.5TB capacity that includes Windows Media Center. The system features Mondo’s Digital Fidelity (Di-Fi) technology for enhancing AV performance (smoothing out DVD output), and an 800W digital amplifier for boosting multi-channel audio. With full digital signal processing, the system avoids any analog-to-digital, or digital-to-analog conversions.
The XL 7000 also allows for customization of AV output, such as music profile settings for individual tracks or albums, or controlling picture aspect ratio (wide screen mode, cinema mode) and color settings for movies and videos. After adjustments are made, the system will store them for re-use.
The Mondo XL 7000 system is available now through dealers, and costs approximately $15,000 (depending on configuration) plus installation.
