At Toshiba’s press conference, the company unveiled two new additions to their REGZA line of premium LCD flat panels. The 42″ and 47″ Cinema Series Pro models are aimed at the custom-installation market, with 1920×1080 CineSpeed panels (8ms response time or less) and PixelPure Hi-Bit 12-bit processing. The new models also include CableCARD slots and TV Guide On Screen, and you can even check your e-mail by connecting the TV to your home network. A “native mode” displays incoming signals with no overscan, which improves picture quality by avoiding any scaling. The high-gloss black cabinetry makes a stylish statement, even when the TV is turned off. Both models are scheduled to be available later this month at an MSRP of $3400 for the 42LZ196 and $4600 for the 47LZ196.
