[CEDIA 06] McIntosh Jumps into Video with 1080p DLP Projector
September 15th, 2006 — By Scott Wilkinson
Who would have thought that McIntosh, a venerable high-end audio company, would introduce a 1080p single-chip DLP projector? Not me, certainly. But that’s exactly what I found in their booth. The cool-looking MDLP1 is controlled by the VP1000 video processor, which utilizes proprietary processing to provide scaling up to 1080p and 2-zone operation along with four HDMI inputs and two HDMI outputs. The MDLP1 should be shipping by December for something under $30,000, while the VP1000 will set you back another $10,000.
