Stewart Filmscreen held their first press conference ever at CEDIA, announcing several new products, including Starglas, a semi-transparent, free-standing rear-projection panel designed for outdoor use. Also unveiled was a new version of the Firehawk material, dubbed G3 1080p, which, as the name implies, is designed for higher-resolution projectors with a smoother surface than the traditional Firehawk.

Speaking of Firehawk, Stewart hinted at an announcement that would be made by Sony later in the day: a collaboration that has resulted in a Firehawk material optimized for the new VPL-VW50 1080p projector. Sony plans to market them as a package (though not, apparently, at a package price).
