[CEDIA 06] RBH Debuts 30th Anniversary Freestanders
September 13th, 2006 — By Arnie Williams
From the “sell the car and mortgage the house department, comes some incredible speakers from RBH. Celebrating 30 years in the business, RBH chose CEDIA to introduce the T-30LSE freestanding loudspeakers. But at $14,999 a pair, we’re talking a substantially high-end listening room or mega home theater. RBH also has a variety of speakers that could be combined for center channel and rear satellites, to make this a surround-sound system to die for.
So what will such a dent in your pocketbook get you? Each floorstander sports three 1-inch Ferrofluid liquid-cooled Scanspeak tweeters (sounds like a motorcycle engine, huh?), four 6.5-inch mid-woofers, and two 10-inch subwoofers. You can see now, that even though these jewels cost big bucks, they come with high-end technology. They’re no small fires, either, standing at 60.5 inches tall with cabinet design providing additional air space for the high-performance 10-inch woofers, which extends the frequency response to 18Hz. Yeow.
