In recent issues of The Absolute Sound and The Perfect Vision, Editor-in-Chief Robert Harley has commented favorably on the sound of the stylish and affordable Design-series mini-monitors from by Era Acoustics. In simple terms, these compact and affordable speakers produce a bigger, deeper, richer sound than many listeners think possible for their size.

At CEDIA Expo 2006, Era is introducing a new range of on-wall or “plasma� speakers that leverage driver technologies developed for the Design-series mini-monitors. The new models are called the PL24 ($500 each) and the PL28 ($600 each), and both feature beefy 3mm-thick aluminum enclosures. To complement the PL-series on-walls, Era also offers two powered subwoofers: the new Sub 8 ($800) or Sub 10 ($1000).
